The TowerRAID TR4UT-B is a hardware RAID 4 bay enclosure that uses the USB 2.0 and eSATA interfaces to provide over 200MB/s performance. Built-in support for RAID 0, 1, 10, 3, 5 with hot-spare support and JBOD, TR4UT-B provides hardware RAID redundancy protection against hard drive failure. New RAID mode, CLONE mode or N-Way Mirror, are introduced to support the same copy of the data in all of the hard drives installed.
The hardware RAID enclosure also eliminates OS compatibility issues, since no software is required. In order to satisfy the need for performance hungry applications, each unit is bundled with PCIe 2.0 x1 two ports eSATA controller card with SATA 6.0 Gbps (6G) support (Highpoint Tech R622 Controller card). PCIe 2.0 provides twice the bandwidth of PCIe 1.0 unit, allowing over 200MB/s performance in PCIe 2.0 support slot.
Backward compatibility with PCIe 1.0 slots allow using the unit in any PCIe slot, to provide eSATA connectivity for the computer without eSATA build-in. Designed with easy installation in mind, the trayless TR4UT-B allows instant installation by simply inserting the hard drive after opening the protective ventilating cover.
