The new HDMI E-6.0 extender kit will allow you to maximize your home theater by being able to display 480i/p - 1080i resolutions up to 320ft (100 meters) from an HD Satellite, Cable box, Blu-ray player etc. Without any noticeable degradation or distortion using Cat-5e/6 cable.
1080p transmission up to 165ft (50 meters) may be accomplished by using Cat-6 cable.
Typical applications include home theater systems, classroom and educational facilities, corporate and boardroom audio-visual systems, and digital signage. It is also capable of transmitting a DVI signal using DVI/HDMI adapters.
The E-6.0 transmission system works better than conventional "balun" systems because it relies on active electronics rather than transformers that can saturate and are not as linear as active systems.
Another major advantage for professional AV installers is that the E-6.0 HDMI balun system is legal because it uses fire and safety rated low cost cat5e/6 wires. Most HDMI cables are unrated for in wall use, so therefore are illegal to use.
The transmission system comprises:
Send Unit for transmitting the HDMI signals.
Receive Unit for receiving the HDMI signals.
Two Cat-5e or Cat-6 cables (not included) are required for the E-6.0 HDMI balun system.
The receive unit is powered by 5VDC (100-240VAC to 5VDC adapter included).
The E-6.0 balun system uses very little power and is normally left on.
Supports HDMI signals compatible with 8, 10, 12, & 16 bit color depths resolution as well as the new XVYcc color space Deep Color.
Supports 1080p 24 Hz (available through a Blu-Ray Disc). Also supports 1080p 50 Hz, 60 Hz and 120 Hz.
